MIRROR'S DELIGHT

Koeno van der Schuur (1968) is a freelance graphic designer.

Since 2001, he and his sole proprietorship Mirror's Delight try to make his boyhood dream come true. He has learned his profession primarily in practice. Graphic is very satisfying for him, he'll do it wholeheartedly. He can dive into an order and only get out again if he's utterly amazed by himself.

Thanks to his education in Free Arts
(Artez, Arnhem), which he from
2005 to 2007 followed, his graphic
work is also greatly improved.
Every day he tries to raise the bar
to improve. The most enjoyment
comes from those jobs that
demand everything. Such as a
book cover for a historical thriller
(Het verloren perkament) which
he made for advertising and
production agency (XCJ).
It was his first book cover ever.
There were specific items which the commisioner of the assignment

wanted to appear on the cover. His creative skills in how to
search the web, provided the
necessary images for the start of
the job. Insights and painting-
techniques that he had made his
own along his Free Arts
education, he applied in
Photoshop to give the cover that
historical picturesque look. It had to capture the imagination, had to vapor the scent of the Middle Ages. The footage which wasn't there...
